How do you clean a cut quartz geode?
I bought a few lovely souvenirs from a trip to Alaska last week made of sliced, polished pieces of blue quartz geode crystals. Each has a price tag sticker right on the crystal. I know that oil, acetone, dish soap, Goo Gone, and other commercial products can be used to remove adhesive from such stickers, but I'm afraid to use anything on my irreplaceable treasures unless I'm certain it won't harm them or damage the shiny finish.
Please, no wild guesses. Like I said, I don't want to try anything iffy.
Quartz is chemically the same as glass. Stay away from HF (hydrofluoric acid) and you should be fine. I would recommend acetone/nail polish remover to get the sticker material off quickly, though.
