Can you help identify this sword?
It looks like a dress sword. I would put it around the 1800's or early 1900's. There are a few markings that may prove helpful. Below the hilt it says FRASER HIGH STRt COSPORT. On the reverse side (same spot) it says PROOF in a circle, this circle is surrounded by a "Star of David." The sword has a designed "D" guard and an alligator or snake skin (or imitation) handle. There is copper filigree wrapped around the handle as well. It measures about 38" in length. The scabbard is steel and looks like your average, civil war type.
I don't know much about swords, but perhaps a picture would help those who are more familiar with the subject.
