Dont Miss Sydneys Opera House by Phoenix Delray
When you are making preparations for your next Australia vacation, you will undoubtedly realize that no visit to Sydney is complete without a visit to the Opera House. Sydneys most famous landmark, The Sydney Opera House, was designed by the Danish architect Jorn Utzon, and the architectural firm Ove Arup & Partners.
Stage One of construction on the Opera House commenced on December 5, 1958, and focused on the building of the podium. Stage two, the construction of the roof, was one of the most difficult parts of the project, due to unique shell like construction of the various levels and panels. Design work on the shells was the sole focus of the project from 1957 to 1963, and the design work represented some of the earliest uses of computers in the structural analysis process. Many other construction and engineering techniques were pioneered during the building of the opera house as well, and these techniques are still widely used by premiere architects today.
The third stage of construction, the interiors, began in 1963, with Utzon supervising but in 1965, following a change of government, the project was determined to be under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Works, and Utzon resigned shortly after. Utzons resignation threw the project into temporary turmoil, but on October 20, 1973, the Opera House formally opened its doors, officiated by Elizabeth II, Queen of Australia. Ove Arup and Parteners remained true to most of Utzons original design plan, and his influence can be found throughout the interior and exterior of the building., as well as the on the grounds and nearby structures.
The Sydney Opera House is considered to be one of the great architectural works of the 20th Century and represents innovations in both architectural and structural design, and continues to function as a world class performing center. The building is also the location of many weddings year round, and various cultural events as well.
The city of Sydney offers much in the way of sight seeing and attractions, from historic walking trails to beautiful beaches, snowy mountains, and fine dining. Is it bad i dont miss my father anymore?
Well my dad has never really been around when i was about 10 and younger he would come and visit every 2 years and ten as i got older his involvement got less and i did miss him and he wished he would love me like he loves his son(mind you i found out but not by him telling me) and wife. Well i haven't seen him since i was 10 and im 15 now and he doesn't he couldn't even call me on my birthday and now i realize as i get older i just start to care less and less is this bad?
