Can spelter legally be sold as bronze in France?
I've just been sold an art déco object by an antique seller from France (over the internet).
I took it to be valued and was told it was not bronze but probably spelter?
The French dealer however claims not to understand what I mean.
I've looked it up, and 'spelter' is a.k.a. 'French Bronze'.
Have I just been conned? or, is this an innocent case of lost in translation?
