I'm looking to buy HDMI cables for my sharp acquos 1080i with tv and xbox. Why are these cables so cheap?

This deal seems to good to be true. Why are they so cheap?

They are "cheap" because the HDMI format has no need to be that expensive. When using HDMI you are transferring a digital signal. Digital is not like analog in the sense that analog can give you a not as good picture if the cables are not gold plated and such. Digital cables either work correctly or they don't work at all.

The only downside to these inexpensive cables is that they won't have the best connectors, so if you move your stuff quite a bit there is a greater possibility of the connectors coming loose and/or not functioning correctly.

I've known of literally hundreds of people that use cables like you have linked and from monoprice.com that work perfectly fine and up to the standards of much more expensive cables such as Monster cables sold in most big electronics stores.

In the end, Monster cables are VERY overpriced and you will be fine with the cheaper cable.
