Why all great "electronic music" bands come from UK?
Chemical Brothers, New Order, Depeche Mode, Art of Noise, Fatboy Slim, Underworld, Erasure, Paul Hardcastle, The Prodigy, Mint Royale, (even Gorillaz), Autechre, Aphex Twin and Orbital just to name a few.
Nearly all these collectives belong to the new wave developed from post-punk. But who were their teachers? Germans! Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream - there isn't electronic music without them, it's like rock music without Jimmy Hendrix. Another important artist - French electronic music pioneer Jean-Michael Jarre. One of the most amazing (but sadly, short-living) was Propaganda: young people from German Düsseldorf trying their fortune in Britain. I would like to remind you there were times (mid 80-s) when the members of Depeche Mode even moved to Germany. So, it's better to define it as German-British connections in music.
There were (and are) so many great bands and artists from UK, that I am not surprised. I presume UK is just a country where great music come from
