Arts Award Portfolio ?
Hi, my school submitted me in doing the silver art award and for the unit 1 which is an "arts challenge" I'm supposed to prepare a portfolio to show my progress. The problem is that I have never done a portfolio in my life and I don't know what I am supposed to include in it. Can someone help me please? Or give me an example of a portfolio that I could maybe refer to.

All you do in your portfolio is include your progress. For my arts challenge I'm doing photography. I created a spider diagram and put my strengths and weaknesses of it in the arts. (e.g.dance, drama, photography, art.) And just made little notes. I put that into a folder. It doesn't have to be in a folder though, you can create a website and put it on there.
I then decided photography was something I wanted to improve, so I've decided what sort of photography I'll do. I decided to do sport, nature, animal and event photography. I've written why on a piece of paper and also put that into my folder. I'll then go out, take photos and create a photo album.
I'll then write about what I've learnt from doing photography, if I enjoyed it, if I didn't etc. This will also go into my folder.
Basically, any work you do towards silver award put it into your folder. It's just to help you keep track and let the examiner know what you're doing. Just include whatever you want in it, there's no right or wrong for YOUR portfolio. You could put it on a disk if you wanted instead of a folder, it's completely up to you!
