What tattoo does derek have (teen wolf)?

Ok, so I've been watching the new series on MTV called teen wolf. And I noticed that derek (one of the characters) has this frikin awesome tattoo on his back. All I know is that he's a werewolf, and the tattoo had like three swirls linked to eachother. I really wanna know what it is, because I've wanted to get a tattoo related to werewolves (Long story) and I finally think I've found one I like. ^.^

It's a celtic symbol called the triple spiral. I've been wanting to get a tatoo of it for ages now. As far as I know though it's not related to werewolves. It stands for growth and the three fases a woman goes through (maiden,mother and crone). It has lots of different meanings and I think I've once read that it also stood for different fases of the moon. Maybe that's why Derek got one.
