Amber and amethyst values?
I was just given literally a pound of victorian amber and amethyst beads. The amber has NO flore or Fauna in it. That was kind of dissapointing.
But, I have looked on line for a couple of days now and it looks like this bag of beads is of little value, even as antique jewelery. Does any one have a different opinion?
most amber and amethyst are pretty common. there are some exceptions in both. much amber is plastic or natural but of low value. amethyst is quartz. a very common material but there are some very deep colored purple amethyst that can be quite valuable. you will usually find it surrounded by diamonds
